10 Free Browser Games You Can Play at Work (No Downloads Needed)
Got five minutes between meetings? Waiting on a file to upload? You don't need to install anything to take a proper break. These ten free games run right in your browser, load in seconds, and are easy to close the moment you need to get back to work.
Full disclosure: four of them are games I made myself. They're marked so you know which ones.
1. Tic-Tac Filters Made by Ned
The classic game of noughts and crosses, with a fresh twist. Play against the computer, or challenge a coworker in two-player mode on the same screen. A round takes under a minute, so it's the perfect quick break.
2. Wordle
The daily five-letter word puzzle that took over the internet. You get six guesses and one puzzle a day, so it never eats too much of your time.
3. Connect 4 Filters Made by Ned
Drop your pieces and get four in a row before the computer does. It's simple to learn, but the computer will punish a careless move.
4. 2048
Slide the numbered tiles and merge matching ones to reach 2048. It's oddly calming, and you can stop and pick it back up whenever you like.
5. Water Sort Puzzle Made by Ned
A relaxing colour-sorting puzzle. Pour the liquids between tubes until every tube holds just one colour. It's easy to start and satisfying to finish, and the later levels make you think. Prefer teacups to test tubes? Try the Sort Puzzles version, which has a tea-sorting mode too.

6. Google Snake
Search “snake game” on Google and you can play the retro classic right there. Eat the apples, grow longer, and don't run into yourself.
7. NumoLingo Made by Ned
A memory card game that teaches you numbers in seven languages. Choose from three difficulty levels, build up streak bonuses, and try to climb the leaderboard. It's a break that actually teaches you something.
8. Sudoku
The timeless number puzzle. Pick an easy grid for a five-minute reset or a hard one for your lunch break.
9. Solitaire
The original office game. Search “solitaire” on Google to play a clean, ad-free version instantly.
10. GeoGuessr
You're dropped somewhere in the world on Street View, and you have to guess where you are. It's great fun with coworkers. The free version has limited daily play.
